Peanuts may be small but they pack a big nutritional punch for our wild birds! They are packed full of protein for growth and maintenance as well as fat for energy and calories to help birds all year around. Peanuts fed in an appropriate wild bird feeder will attract a range of wild birds to your garden such as:
- Tits
- Wrens
- Robins
- Sparrows
- Woodpeckers etc.
Peanuts can be fed all year around. However, it is worth using a peanut cage feeder that uses a small mesh to stop birds taking whole peanuts. This is due to the fact that whole peanuts can be a choking hazard for small or young birds.
If you would like to offer your garden birds a feed with a bit more variety to try and attract some different birds, try feeding our mixed wild bird feed!
