Easterbrooks Salmon and Chicken cat food has a combined meat content of 60%. Compare this to standard supermarket brands that often only guarantee 4% and you are onto a winner straight away!

This high meat content produces a strong, flavourful aroma to attract your cat to the food. The biscuit has been designed to have an appealing mouthfeel to your cat to encourage them onto the next stage of eating it. Thanks to the combination of proteins used, the flavour is varied and tasty which keeps your cat interested in eating.

Salmon and Chicken for Cats

Salmon is an easily digestible protein source for cats. It is rich in Omega 3 essential fatty acids which have excellent anti-inflammatory properties. Furthermore Omega 3 supports skin and coat function to give a sleek, smooth and shiny coat whilst helping to maintain joint health.

Chicken provides a lean and easily digestible form of protein to compliment Salmon. Moreover, it is rich in essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals. These all have a beneficial effect on overall health and wellbeing.

Adult Cats need their own diet

Cats are considered Adult when they reach one year of age. From this point, they will remain in the adult category until approximately 7-8 years old. At this stage they can be changed to a Senior diet.

Adult cats have specific nutritional requirements and as such benefit from an adult or maintenance food. This is because they are no longer growing so do not need the higher protein and fat levels of a kitten food. Conversely, they are not yet in their Autumn years where activity levels and metabolism can slow. This life stage should be matched with an appropriate Senior diet.

Easterbrooks Adult cat food can support your cat’s everyday health and wellbeing in their normal day to day activities. In addition, as cats cannot make all of the amino acids they need like Taurine, this is added to the food to make it a nutritionally complete diet.

Taurine is very important for brain, heart, digestion and immune function amongst other things*. Furthermore, beet pulp and cellulose are included in the diet as sources of insoluble fibre. These ingredients help to reduce the formation of hairballs.

Feeding Guidelines

All bags of Easterbrooks cat food come with a suggested feeding guide. However, these are just that, a guide. The following factors can have an effect on feeding quantities:

• individual breed.
• metabolic rate.
• level of activity.
• neutering.
• age of the cat.
• sex of the cat.
• ambient living temperature etc.

As a result, adjust feeding quantities as necessary. Remember, no matter how good a food is, too much is no good! For example, over feeding will usually lead to poor digestion, skin and coat problems. Not to mention weight gain. Similarly, if you feed too little it will affect their ability to maintain a healthy bodyweight.
