Description

Does your cat have a sensitive stomach?

Finding the right cat food for sensitive stomachs can be daunting! With so many options available, finding the right diet for your cat is a challenge. Moreover, the fact that so many cats are picky and choosy in what they eat makes the job even more difficult!

Cats have a process by which they assess their food:

  • Firstly, they will smell the food. If it is not appealing, they will walk away.
  • Secondly, they will pick the food up in their mouth. If they do like the feel or texture of the food, they will walk away.
  • Finally, they will taste the food, if the flavour is not appealing, you guessed it, they will walk away!

Easterbrooks Chicken cat food has a chicken content of 50%. Compare this to standard supermarket brands that often only guarantee 4% and you are onto a winner straight away!

Unfortunately, most supermarket cat foods use random proteins that constantly change from batch to batch. These are disguised under the ingredient ‘meat and animal derivatives’. As a result, these are the worst cat foods for sensitive stomachs. This is because it is impossible to manage your cat’s diet and avoid certain ingredients that may cause stomach issues.

Conversely, the high chicken content in Easterbrooks is guaranteed and consistent. It produces a strong, flavourful aroma to attract your cat to the food. The biscuit has been designed to have an enticing mouthfeel to your cat which encourages them onto the next stage of eating. The addition of maize provides an appealing crunch which also has oral care benefits.

These have a beneficial effect on overall health. Furthermore, to ensure our food is nutritionally complete food, the following are included:

  • Cellulose and Beet Pulp are included as a natural source of soluble and insoluble dietary fibre. These are important for maintaining normal intestinal transit time and motility. They also help to reduce the formation of hairballs/
  • Taurine is an essential amino acid for cats, to help promote healthy eyes, ears, heart and immunity.
  • Pre-biotic MOS (Mannanoligosaccharides) and FOS (Fructooligosaccharides) help to promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria and enhance absorption of nutrients.
  • No added artificial colours and preservatives – naturally preserved with rosemary extract and mixed tocopherols.

Adult Cats need their own diet

Cats are considered Adult when they reach one year of age. From this point, they will remain in the adult category until approximately 7-8 years old. At this stage they can be changed to a Senior diet.

Adult cats have specific nutritional requirements and as such benefit from an adult or maintenance food. This is because they are no longer growing so do not need the higher protein and fat levels of a kitten food. Conversely, they are not yet in their Autumn years where activity levels and metabolism can slow. This life stage should be matched with an appropriate Senior diet.

Feeding Guidelines for Easterbrooks Chicken cat food

All bags of Easterbrooks cat food come with a suggested feeding guide. However, these are just that, a guide. The following factors can have an effect on feeding quantities:

  • individual breed.
  • metabolic rate.
  • level of activity.
  • neutering.
  • age of the cat.
  • sex of the cat.
  • ambient living temperature etc.

As a result, adjust feeding quantities as necessary. Remember, no matter how good a food is, too much is no good! For example, over feeding will usually lead to poor digestion, skin and coat problems. Not to mention weight gain. Similarly, if you feed too little it will affect their ability to maintain a healthy bodyweight.

My 2 cats love this food! They can be quite fussy but this food never fails!

I can’t rate this product highly enough. After numerous vets visits for my cat with a sensitive stomach, I was advised he would need a rather expensive prescribed food. However, after advice from The Pet Experience I tried him on Easterbrooks, which sorted it! All 3 of my cats are very healthy & enjoy this range of food very much.

I switched to Easterbrooks after a recommendation from Purrfect Boarding Catery. I haven’t looked back, both my cats love it. My ginger has a particular delicate tummy and often used to vomit but since switching to this he is much much better. As good if not better than the expensive brands.

After several visits to the vets to try and work out why one of our cats was losing her fur, we asked Cormac for his advice. He suggested that she could be allergic to fish and to try her on the Easterbrooks chicken dry food. We did that and she is now has a healthy full coat again. I would never use a different brand or pet food shop as Cormac was brilliant. To know that we can trust his advice is invaluable so we always recommend him to friends and family.

We’ve tried so many different foods for our cat but even when claiming to be suitable for sensitive tummies they’ve not worked or she’s turned her nose up at the flavour. I was worried about trying yet another product, but Super Premium Adult Cat, Chicken has been a big hit for Kitty on flavour and no more tummy troubles! Well worth a try!

Wow what unbelievable customer service! I placed my order, within two hours it had been shipped and arrived by lunchtime the next day! The vet has recommended a specific diet for one of my senior cats who is vomiting regularly and has lost a little weight but nothing significant has shown up in her blood tests. Both my cats health has improved immeasurably in recent years by giving them high quality hypoallergenic cat food, their coats shine, they are a good weight and I can tell they feel and act healthy except recently one of them has been vomiting frequently for no apparent reason so we are trying this with her to see if it helps relieve the issues. We will try it for 6-8 weeks and see if she improves and I will update but its looking good already as I just gave her some and she ate it straight away and boy is she normally fussy! Thank you for the lovely note in the box too!
